It is mainly used for psychology, education, and social science bibliographies. It uses parenthetical citation within the text, listing the author’s surname and the year of publication of the work, which is more or less same as that of MLA style’s parenthetical citations. APA style uses Harvard referencing, also known as the author-date system of citations and parenthetical referencing, keyed to a subsequent list of References."

For our report, we need to use APA style in-text citations, so I thought, I should share this information with our group. Basically in text citations are used to refer to the source of writer's inspiration, so if reader wants to get more information about writer's source, they can refer to the reference list. APA style in-text citation includes following elements:

• Author’s name (if known) or we can use name of organization, if it is cooperate or if author is unknown then we can use source title.

How to write good research report

If we want to write a good research report we have to keep few things in mind. We need to take lots of notes while researching and our notes should clearly point out location of information for any paraphrase or quote of original text, this will help us to write proper citation; and secondly we need to make sure that we are using others work as a primary source not just copy their work.
